The term “proper application” refers to the process of applying any scientifically acquired knowledge in a way that will either immediately or eventually be of benefit to humankind. There are several applications of science that have benefited humankind in all facets of his existence, and these benefits can be found all around the world. Several of these applications are focused on the following areas:

1. Health and medicine: The scientific study of human health has led to the discovery and production of medications that are effective in the treatment of a wide variety of disorders. Diseases such as smallpox, malaria, and tetanus were among the leading causes of death in earlier times. These diseases claimed the lives of men, women, and children alike.

2. Transportation: People used to walk from one place to another, carrying heavy loads on their heads, before science made a lot of progress. Transportation of products and services has been less difficult, more efficient, and more comfortable as a result of the development of technologies such as bicycles, cars, lorries, ships, and aeroplanes, among others.

3. Agriculture: Through the employment of contemporary farming equipment such as tractors, ridges, combine harvesters, and other similar machines, food can now be produced in very large amounts with only a small amount of labour. The use of scientifically developed seedlings and seeds, fertilizers, insecticides, and other agricultural supplies has resulted in a significant increase in crop yields in a given area.

4. Communication: The ease and speed of communication have significantly improved. Using the phone, GSM, the internet, and other forms of communication make it possible for people who live far away from each other to share information.

5. Security: as a result of the advancements made possible by scientific research, it is now possible to protect one’s life and property to a greater extent than was before possible. Scientific tools such as smoke detectors, weather satellites, seismic detectors, and the like can provide us with advanced warning of impending dangers such as fires, hurricanes, droughts, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions, amongst other things; this will allow us to take action in a timely manner to either eliminate the threat or mitigate its impact. We are able to defend ourselves against attacks not just from dangerous animals but also from other people thanks to the sophisticated technology at our disposal.

Wrong Applications Of Science

When science is applied incorrectly, it can lead to problems, suffering, destruction, and even death in some cases. People on their own and nations as a whole need to be cautious about how science is used. When it is applied incorrectly, there are far-reaching and deadly effects.

Incorrect applications of science include the following:

1. Health and Medicine: In the realms of health and medicine, the production and distribution of false and substandard medications into the market have resulted in the loss of a significant number of lives. Because the inappropriate dosage of some medicines can cause them to become toxic, the warning “keep out of the reach of children” is included on the label of many medications.
2. Transportation: Accidents on the roads can be attributed to the inadequate maintenance of both the roads and the vehicles. Air disasters can also be caused by improper maintenance of aircraft as well as the natural ageing process of aircraft. These accidents resulted in the loss of life as well as property.
3. Agriculture: Certain agricultural chemicals, such as insecticides, are considered to be harmful and overused. They cause the water to become poisonous and they kill all of the aquatic life when they get washed into rivers and streams.
4. Communication: crimes such as fraud and pornography, terrorism, and other illegal acts can be readily and quickly carried out via the internet, computers, and phones, among other communication tools. At the push of a button, all of humanity could be obliterated from the face of the world. This is what happened as a result of the deployment of biological warfare weapons such as the release of anthrax dust into the atmosphere, which led to the discovery of atomic energy and the manufacturing of atomic weapons. The repercussions of it are widespread.

The Implications That Scientific Advancement Have On The Growth Of Society

The growth of society is affected in both a positive and a bad way by the advances in scientific knowledge. The individual who uses or manipulates scientific knowledge and the purpose for which that knowledge is put to work both contribute to the benefits that research provides to society and the risks that it poses.

The outcomes of science include chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons, which are among the most devastating weapons that have ever been made in the history of the world. These weapons have been produced as a direct result of scientific research.
